Lummi Island
Last week, Baine and I decided to spend Memorial Day weekend at a B&B on Lummi Island - one of the San Juan Islands. Although we reserved a nice but modest room, the B&B made a mistake in the reservation. That wasn’t really a problem for us, because their mistake led to us staying in a huge, decked-out guest house for the same price as a room. We had a full kitchen, a fireplace,

2 bedrooms with king-sized beds,

a huge shower with a steam bath/sauna,

and a deck with a view of the water and the sunset

The weather was perfect too – cool at night and sunny and warm during the day. We completely vegged out and hiked, ran, and played with Pal on the beach.

We also took a 7-mile loop hike around the edge of part of the island. In addition to the gorgeous views, we discovered that Lummi Island has some interesting character. It was so strange, for example, to see green pastures, populated by cows, sheep, and llamas on one side of our path and beaches and salt water on the other side. Anyway, here are some of the pictures from our hike.
