daffodils

Last May, my friend Carina and I drove about an hour and a half to see the Skagit Valley tulip fields in full bloom. We walked around talking, laughing, taking pictures, getting high on the powerful aroma of tulips, and set up a picnic in 1 of the fields.

This year, we went earlier so that we could see the daffodils in bloom. But first we were surprised to find that there were a few tulip fields already in bloom.
Unfortunately, my camera was on some really whacked settings when I took this picture, but I still like it...
Not all of the daffodil fields were in bloom yet, but this field was our favorite. We set up our picnic, and other than a couple of drive-by tourist photographers, we were the only ones there - which was wonderful.
