Same-Sex Marriage.
Before you continue reading, let's pause... What are you feeling after reading those words? Hope, Anger, Excitement, Fear, Sadness, Ambivalence? Did your blood pressure just go up? Mine did. It does. So let's take a couple of slow, deep breaths before we continue.
I don't have a lot to say really. Just this... My opinion on same-sex marriage changed a few years ago when a friend opened my heart to his story. I didn't have any openly gay/lesbian friends before then. The 'issue' for me quickly became a person, and the consequences of my beliefs became much more real. It wasn't fast, and it definitely wasn't easy, but everything changed for me then. Since then, my heart continues to be opened by my friends who want the same freedom to love as I have, and I'm forever grateful to them.
