urban homestead
The sun & some warmer temps drew us out this weekend. We worked like crazy in the yard & garden on Saturday. There's plenty more to be done, but we are well on our way to creating our little urban homestead.
I was pretty wiped by the end of the day, but it feels absolutely wonderful to till the earth & plant the food that will feed our bodies & souls. Unfortunately, we're not ready to house chickens yet this year, but we are expanding the veggie garden to almost twice its current size. Oh, I'm happy. My dreams of a simple, connected-to-the-earth home are coming true, and I am grateful.

Then we grabbed the lawn mower, gloves, shovels, spades, seeds, & compost and made some serious progress.
