letting in the light
With big leather couches, dark rustic wood, walls painted in earthy greens and tans, and everything accented with a deep merlot red, we have a warm, cozy living space in our home. It is the ideal place to curl up by the fire in the winter with a cup of tea and some knitting. But spring is here, and it's time to let in the light.
On Saturday, I gutted our living space of all the dark (merlot curtains, vases, pots, statues) and replaced it with fresh, spring light - from air plants to terra cotta pots to drying spring flowers to light green, linen curtains. The result is fresh air circulating fluidly all the way to the base of my lungs, opening my heart, and softening my stiff, winter-weary body. Spring is here. It's time to soak our bodies and souls in light!
