blakely
Like last year, we went to Blakely Island for a weekend in May with some of Baine's students. It's a small island in the San Juans with a population of less than sixty people, and Baine's school has a 960-acre field-station there. It's a pretty amazing place. Naomi and I enjoyed tagging along again this year.

Beach Time: she napped, and I knitted.

Ferry Ride Home
Resting on the table on the ferry - moments before crashing in the car for 2.5 hours on the way home. Big weekend for a little bear.
p.s. Her purple hat is really soft (wool, silk, & yak! fiber). It was a fun, simple knitting project. Hats are so fast, satisfying, and useful in our neck of the woods year-round.
